This makes more sense now that time shifting video is easily available, but before that if you wanted to read the story you had to pick up the book, you just didn't want to be forced to start on the last page if you wanted a little suspense.

Quote from: chimpfoodI mean it's a forum for Cornell hockey discussion. You should probably stay away if you don't want to know the score

I was going to try to watch in the morning. I can come to this forum in my usual Pavlovian manner without clicking on the game thread, but when you update the thread title with the score, it RUINS THINGS. No need for that.
I am very very sorry!!!  I genuinely feel terrible.  It literally never occurred to me; I'll not do it again.

A hundred thanks for understanding and not taking my late-night ALL CAPS the wrong way, and I'm sorry I made you feel terrible. I was only aiming for slightly bad. :-)

No, it's clear you weren't posting it with malice -- I just assumed it was OCD reasons. I hadn't even noticed that you had started doing it until my eLF reflex commanded my browser to the Forum last night. Apparently we haven't discussed it in 16 years, and now that it's easy to time shift a game (even mid-game)...well, I appreciate that we're living in a wonderful tech era.

Im pretty much in the boat now that if i dont know want to know how a game played out watch it first then come to the board.

the request is "don't change the thread title, not "don't post about the game." there's an easy middle ground here.

That's exactly right. And there's plenty of other topics of discussion here besides that night's game. That's why there are threads.

I mean, if the hockey game threads were anything like the lacrosse game threads, I wouldn't even worry about finding out the score.

Im on the other end of this. I think posts that say "goal Berard, 1-0 Cornell" are basically spam. I can see that on the live stats or the box score - adds nothing of value.
