The way you post, it sounds almost biblical.

Notre Dame, 13-12, in the third overtime. Not sure who I wanted to win. Other than the voters are probably dying for a reason to vote the Terps above Cornell. Announced attendance at Maryland, 6,001.

All shall be resolved in May.

There's a podcast called "The Crease Dive," Two guys perform on it. In their episode for last Thursday (I think it was then: S6E6) they were positively jubilant Ivy teams lost. The began by saying six Ivies had lost, but only talked about the three that actually lost. Even so, when they corrected themselves: seven Ivies play lacrosse, they said they didn't consider Dartmouth. They never mentioned any of the games Ivy teams won. They also never mentioned that these were the first games the Ivies played in 2023, with most of their opponents having 2 or even three games under their belts, plus a whole extra month of team practice.

And once they got past their celebration of Ivy losses, they had serial orgasms discussing Notre Dame. One would think the Kavanaghs were the second coming of the Gate brothers.

After wasting my time on this trash, I wanted nothing more than for Notre Dame to lose. I also felt the respect Tillman and Donville paid to Cornell last May deserved some reciprocation, not to mention that Tillman's Cornell '91.

*That's* what it took for you to root against ND?

No. They had me at Amy Coney Barrett. ::flipd::

Highlights of the win at Columbus. It looks like the offense is really improving -- lots of good ball movement and guys getting open off the ball.

Can anyone tell if it's a pass or a shot at 1:55 in the 3rd quarter? It hits our guy in the helmet.

Lacrosse polls after the fourth game of the season (for many teams; 5 for Maryland, Loyola, Rutgers, Penn State, TOSU, 6 for Hopkins). Top four are the same: Virginia, Notre Dame, Cornell -- the only unbeatens -- and Maryland. Cornell is now over 400 points in the media poll; Virginia has 456 and 19 of 23 first place votes. No first place votes for Cornell.

The other Ivies are outside the top ten: Yale 11 was 13, Princeton 14 was 5, Penn 15 was 10. In the also-rans of teams receiving votes, Syracuse lands there along with BU, Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth. But none of the Yale, Princeton, Penn games will be gimmes.

Unbeaten Dartmouth still outside the top 20.

I'm assuming no updates on Long. In some ways it bodes well that we are playing well while missing a key player. What improvements do you expect from the team once he's back and hopefully playing at 100%?

I wonder if he is in active directory and taking classes?  That might tell us something,  If he was out for the yr he might bail so he could come back.

Guess we have no spies watching practice.

Long will be back this year.

Big Green have wins of 1, 3, 4 and 11 (over 0-6 Holy Cross). This Saturday, at North Carolina.

Good to know! But I hope it's sooner than Aiden Blake came back last year ...

Weather forecast has improved from snow during the game to 1-3 inches of snow Friday night with Saturday temps peaking at 33 degrees. Saturday 12 noon, at Schoellkopf.

Thank goodness former Cornell current Penn State coach Jeff Tambroni got his 100th PSU win last week vs. Penn, else it'd be the pregame storyline on every lax site thinking that's the obvious pre-game lede that no one else will use.

Nice that one trip to Ithaca for the weekend nets us two hockey games -- two! two! not three -- and a lacrosse game. My warmest parka is blue so I gotta find a red slicker to wear over it. Memo to self: pack the chemical warming packets for the gloves.
