Google the population for the Dakotas combined: enough for a minyan but the bagels are gonna be in the freezer case.
No, I know that -- if I had my way ND, SD, NE, MT, WY, ID would all be combined.

It's not that they're a Rotten Borough.  It's the type of Rotten Borough they are that's so galling (and anti-democratic).

Can I suggest less politics and more hockey? Here, let me help. NoDak's version of highlights:

Quote from: billhowardThis makes up for Cornell giving up the four unanswered goals at Clarkson. Cornell amazing comebacks, twice, at North Dakota.

We led 2-1 after 1.
Still a comeback, though.  NoDak scored first.

Key to the whole thing was Shane's stop on the penalty shot.

It also helped that unlike in the ECAC, Cornell didn't need to go a man down after the miss. In the NCHC, the coach has the option to decline the penalty shot and take the standard minor.

Barely. South Dakota has the fewest Jews of any state.

The Sun says
QuoteSchafer was out with illness on Saturday night, but with Associate Head Coach Ben Syer behind the bench, the Red managed to prevent North Dakota from coming back.

Cornell victories in road games against top 5 non-ECAC opponents:

03/22/1986 Denver
11/25/2001 BU
01/07/2022 North Dakota
01/08/2022 North Dakota

That's all I can find, ever.  But my records for rankings are very spotty prior to the 90s.

"I've been here for years."

No, I'm still saying that bill is stretching the definition of "amazing comeback" if we have 58 minutes to erase a substantial ... *cough* one goal deficit. Let's not fool ourselves.

I watched that penalty shot 6 times, and I still don't know what the shooter was trying. If he wanted to draw Shane to the far post, and poke it back stick side, it just wasn't a good move. Great job by Shane to stay square and not cheat to cover the post. Caught it with the stick and the pad. Good unpanicked approach.

If you think that's low, Wyoming's under 600,000.
I meant 87% white.

Bah, that's nothing.  Here in Vermont we're at 640k and ...94%

+1 (or should it be +10 for the minyan?)

I think it's what you thought or close to it. To me it looked he was trying to drag the puck so that his body got out in front to try to get the goalie to maintain positioning relative more to the shooter's body than the puck and shooter could chip it over the goalie's trailing leg because the goalie's center had moved too far. I probably described that horribly.

The important thing is I think the sweep retroactively makes Cornell 2020 national Champs. :-)

For those who missed the game last night there is a condensed game video here.  No subscription is needed to watch this.  I had to use MS Edge rather than Chrome to watch this on my PC.  It is also available on the ROKU and Firestick apps.::dribble::

The Friday night game is here.::cheer::
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

???

The option is standard across the NCAA:

Rule 25 - Penalty Shot/Optional Minor Penalty
25.1 Penalty Shot/Optional Minor Penalty - When any infraction of the
rules calls for a penalty shot not involving a major, disqualification or
misconduct penalty, the non-offending team shall be given the option
of accepting the penalty shot or having a minor penalty assessed to the
offending player. If, however, a major, disqualification or misconduct
penalty is incurred with the penalty shot, the shot shall be awarded and the
penalty for the prescribed infraction shall be assessed.
