my guess is no since the tix that they gave cornell to sell were in the second tier. i'm assuming that it means the first tier is well on its way to being filled. :-P

It's also possible that of the two sections allotted to Cornell (one upstairs and one downstairs) the downstairs section went entirely to Athletics cronies leaving only upstairs seating for the ticket office to sell to the Cornell Community. It's possible that there will be large pockets of unsold or unused seats downstairs. Especially if BC fans don't arrive until closer to their game on Saturday.

I favor this opinion.
Im sure there will be as many open seats here as there was in Albany

I'm with David.  No way it sells out.  There are two eastern regionals, thereby splitting fans.  Sure, some will go to both, but the vast majority won't.  With two western schools represented, there will likely be lots o' room to stretch out.

ok. guess i should have clarified. no way do i think it will come close to selling out either ... but i do think that enough tickets have been sold for the place to be at least half full - full enough that it warrents opening the second tier.  that being said, do i think all these people will be there for all 3 games? no way. judy and i are also counting on this so that we might jump around the rink, getting the best view possible.

If last year in Worcester is any indication, there will be plenty of open space.

Last year, we had BU, UNH, Maine and us, all of which bring a chunk of fans, and despite the fact they called it a "sell-out", there was plenty of space, and nobody sat where they were supposed to.  This year, there's us and BC and two western schools which don't have a big travel following.

Sit where you want.

I am heading up to Providence on Saturday, with another 80's class member. He spoke to the ticket office at the Dunk this morning. Apparently, ticket sales are abysmal. However, they still wouldn't sell him tickets just for Saturday.

yeah... just talked to box office - NCAA still won't let them sell anything but the full weekend package, and they have about 6,000 tix left.

Of course, having 2 western teams is impacting ticket sales, but I also blame the pricing structure.

These tickets are ridiculously overpriced (though I did buy my tickets).

I'm going to make it a point not to spend a penny at the Dunk.  Just a personal conviction.

Eat a big breakfast, 'cause I don't think they allow re-entry. :-D

So if it doesn't sell out, will there be a Sunday only option?  It's very doubtful I can make it on Saturday, but I'm free on Sunday.  I've never been to the games at Placid or Pepsi, so I'm not sure how the session pass thing works.

I'm sure single day tickets are available each day. Also some losing fans on Sat. will be unloading their Sun. tickets, so ask a friend to get one for you.

I called the PC ticket office to request seats near the Cornell Corner. Instead of giving me a seat assignment I was told that they would try to honor my request. WTF. Are they going to have a committee arbitrate everyone's request just before game time? Should I have included an essay describing why I want this seat?

On top of that, some folks did get actual seat assignments from the same ticket office.

Does anybody have confidence that they will show up at Will Call and find their requested seats waiting for them? should I call back and demand a seat?  ::screwy::
