If the showcasing of the defenseman's "speed" the last two NHL seasons has been any indication, his future in the league is bleak and Europe may very well be his final landing spot.

Bobby Robbins, who toiled 9 years in the minors, played his first NHL game for the B's last night.  Nice story.  Craig Cunningham, another rookie, played in just his 3rd NHL game.  I would think that the B's are going to give some of these young guys, including Ferlin, a few games each to see who has NHL mojo.

During the broadcast his name was mentioned.  They said he was being used in some sort of cap limit trick built around injuries of senior players.  I don;t know the details, but it sounds like he'll be moved back and forth between Boston and Providence with no chance of playing time in the bigs.
