10-0 early 2nd after long Colgate drive stopped by a sack.

10-3 with 2:57 to go in 2nd.  Two frosh QBs lead drive to Colgate 14 but offsides penalty stalls drive.

13-3 at the half after 65-yard run by Colgate QB sets up field goal with 11 seconds left in half. Colgate has 9 minute advantage in time of possession.

With first down at the Colgate four, Cornell takes three straight penalties for 20 yards.  The first calls back a first down  but Shapiro then catches a 17-yard TD pass.  High snap kills the extra point.  13-9 Colgate.

Amazing video quality for a webcast. Tuned in to see Cornell first and goal on the 24 yard line (penalties). Next play a TD pass. Next play a muffed PAT snap that rolls almost to midfield. Could be another roller coaster season. Still, LGR!

50+-yard run by Colgate QB makes it 20-9.  Cornell gambling on defense and when runner gets past line of scrimmage it's clear sailing.

Cornell FG attempt deflected but still good.  20-12.  Set up by long pass from freshman QB Jatis.  Colgate has wind behind them in 4Q.

Late hit gives Colgate good field position in Cornell territory.  Too many penalties this game.  Defense wearing down in second half.  Now 27-12 Colgate.  Colgate with 100 more offensive yards than Cornell.

Overall not a bad effort against a team that's already played twice against really tough opposition.  Archer's still experimenting trying to find a quarterback.  Opening game penalties created problems.  Passing game not consistent at all, but some success on the ground for a change.  Two non-Ivy games to start the season will be a help for the Ivy season.

That's a good assessment.  We showed decent balance on offense, and while the defense got gashed a few too many times, I thought it was a pretty nice effort for the first game.

Archer has the team going in the right direction.  Of the 3 qbs thought Jatis, the freshman, showed the most zip on his passes.
