Quote from: dag14Even better, the women come from behind to beat Clarkson.  Two, if not all three of our goals scored in the third period.

3, now the question is, can it help our Pairwise enough to get us in, even if we lose tomorrow.

Somehow, we dropped a spot.  I didn't look into the reasons, but other results must have hurt us.

Edit: Nope, no other results yet today.  Hmmm....

I think by Clarkson losing, they flipped their TUC with Minn-Duluth. That made MD get the comparison with Clarkson, thus they broke the tie with us and moved up. If you're interested, the Pairwise prior to Friday's games is posted under my Polls thread. Since Mercyhurst is the only team to have played a significant game yesterday, the pairwise probaby didn't change much till today.

I think it'll be very hard for our Pairwise to improve, unless we win tomorrow and then we're in anyway. So who do we root for in the second semi? H or Q?

Shoot, don't matter to me.  I'll be coaching my son during that matchup.

I think we match up better with Quinnipiac, based on the regular season games I watched. Fortunately, neither of those teams' seasons will likely be on the line tomorrow. Hopefully, that gives us enough motivation to get the W against either.

Nice to see that Doug can still work his magic against Clarkson. One more win and then the NCAA's where anything can happen. But that's jumping ahead.

The women grab a 2-1 lead early in the third and then implode. Harvard quickly ties it and goes on a goal scoring spree. 7-3 is the final.

I'm not a PWR guru, but I think the women are out of the NC$$ tourney; they needed to win today to get the auto bid.

Seems very weird to have hockey end so soon.

Greenberg '97

Not the result we wanted.  And BU beating BC isn't going to help our PWR.  I also see that CHA gets an autobid this year.  Unless some strange math bumps us up a slot, the college hockey season is over.

The women's is not tied to the PWR. They have the option of valuing H2H more and we have to hope they do that with us and Clarkson, as we are 2-0-1 against them. The rest of criteria are not that much different between those two.

How about if we get knocked down to 10?

Harvard, Wisconsin, BU, RIT get the AQ's.  BC, Minny, Q are locks.  That leaves 1 spot left.  It ain't gonna be us.

You're right. I was going by the USCHO App, which even now lists us as tied for 7th and ND 10th in PWR.

Too bad the women didn't qualify. Tough to see Clarkson get in, when they took the season against them. If they had opened with an easy team, rather than 2 at BC, they might have gotten in.

Interesting that they went with straight rankings rather than swap Q with BU.  That would've kept the higher-ranked team in its home market, and would have avoided the ECAC first-round matchup.

Because years of reading Jayson Moy's blog has made me an expert on the women's committee.
