Great D to close the 3d quarter. Yale couldn't get a good look, someone finally thought he found a lane to make a run at Fiore but whoever it was got stripped on his way in before he could load up to shoot.

Closde defenders plus Fiore is a solid goaltending combination.

Yale's faceoff guy was good before this game; the contest at the X was one of the keys to the game for both teams.  I don't think our overall faceoff play was as bad as the statistics would indicate because we forced some turnovers after possession was established as a result of relentless wing play.  Our guys do not quit and that made a big difference overall.

Maybe, but if we were better at the X this game isn't close. The lack of possession made it impossible to pull away even though they didn't defend against us well once we got the ball.

Pannell had 2 goals on 10 shots at Yale. That seems pretty poor. Except the shots seem to either go in or they go just wide and play continues with Cornell in possession. Maybe he has a small visual window he's shooting at and the inside corner of the window is on goal and the rest is wide, and usually not grabbed by the goalie. After 6 games he's got 39 points: 17G (of Cornell's 91; Mock has 20), 22A (of Cornell's 44), .270 shooting percentage.

Be interesting to see a stat, Shots Not Resulting in a Turnover (SNORT?).
