Damn system.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Quote from: css228What you're forgetting is that the Islanders AHL affiliate is stocked with the type of talent that would be in the ECHL in any other organization.

I would like to point out that for once this joke is actually not accurate.

Our prospects are not our problem.

Sean Collins got a solid 15:31 of ice time in his NHL debut, a 3-2 loss for the Blue Jackets against Anaheim.

Another cool thing to note was that out of 7 NHL games last night, Cornell alums played in 6 of them.

And if your GM isn't Mike Milbury anymore, you might even not trade all of them away.

The Blue Jackets' beat reporter for the Columbus Dispatch wrote in his postgame blog entry:
Quote from: Aaron PortzlineSean Collins made his NHL debut, playing left wing on a line with Brassard and Umberger. Collins and Umberger won a ton of pucks. Umberger and Brassard each had five shots on goal, tied for the game-high. Collins played 15:31 over 22 shifts and got rave reviews after the game.

Greening gets the first goal of the game against the Islanders (2nd of season), a PPG scored off his own rebound.

Ben Scrivens's hot streak came to an end tonight against Tampa Bay when he was pulled after giving up 4 goals on 13 shots including a big-time softie from Harvard alum, Alex Killorn.

Murray threw a couple of big hits against the Blues tonight, but also took a hard hit behind his own net and skated around gingerly for a while. Sharks won 2-1, for their first win since January.

This bio piece on Sean Collins in today's Columbus Dispatch is well worth reading.

Moulson with two PP goals so far with 3 minutes left in the 2nd. His team is losing, however, as he plays for the Islanders.

Scrivens made 32 saves in a 3-1 win over Buffalo. 5-4-0, .931, 2.10 on the season...not too bad.

Also, Collins was a healthy scratch tonight.

Probably going to hear that a lot.
