Yes, we want them to get to the ECAC final.

:(  But I don't want to root for Yale.

Would you rather root for Harvard?
If it means we can kick their asses in AC in the semis, yes.  This has nothing to do with the fact that I'd like to see another Harvard game in person this year with a result I approve of.

Quote from: martyI thought there was a post that this wasn't going to happen (see attachment) - that ND wasn't wearing the mascot. This is from today's USCHO front page.

This is the WCHA tourney so I guess the WCHA will let North Dakota wear whatever jerseys they want. Someone did post (or mentioned in the chat) the in the NC$$ women's QFs, the North Dakota's womens team wore their ND uniforms that was lacking logos and the nickname.

The test will be next weekend, if the Sioux get into the men's NC$$ tourney, will they wear the logo and/or jerseys with "Sioux" on them?

I hope the NCAA doesn't check their Under Armour.

No ties anymore. Don't root for Yale; root against Harvard.
They could tie in the consolation game.  12-10-12 would be acceptable from a rooting interest standpoint and almost as funny as 10-10-11.

With erm... "Cymbal Guy" graduating, I guess it was just one more chance for him to do his thing in Lynah.

You don't get to see the GWG because I was being told to take down my Angry Gaudet picture.

That's nice, when I was watching at Lynah I didn't see him do that.

As an afterthought, I think I'll send this to Ken Schott, to show him who the best ECAC fans are. As well as best pep band, team, coaches, rink, ...you get the point.

At what point did the team stop inviting the fans on the ice to celebrate after making it to Placid/Albany/AC? I remember the students used to pour over the glass at the end of the game until they changed the glass around 2000. After that we came in through the zamboni doors until at least 2003. Was it a policy change because of safety concerns?

As I recall 1996, climbing over the glass was completely spontaneous: the whole crowd was so worked up that weekend as Cornell completely wrecked Colgate and the crowd sent their two goalies into therapy that we all stormed the glass after the buzzer without any planning. The rink staff couldn't have stopped us if they wanted to. It was craziness.

I think 2005-2006 was the last season.

Was it an official policy to stop allowing the students on the ice or was it never an official thing to begin with and it just happened a few years in a row? One of my favorite memories was running on the ice in 2003 and talking to all the players after the game and then singing the alma mater with fans and players intermingled.

The glass used to be lower so people could actually climb over it.  The first time I saw it was in 1985, but it probably dated from the first settlements of Ithaca in the 17th century.  Or maybe the Indians did it.  I'm sorry, I meant the Bobcats.

When the higher glass was installed (late 90's?) that diverted the flow around to the Zamboni door.  I'm disappointed to hear it's no longer done at all.  Another enchantment plowed under by modernity.  Weber was right.  In the 70's, he was even twins.
