Quote from: Al DeFlorioFour 3rd-period goals for a 5-1 win over Mercyhurst.
SOG 23-5 in the 3rd.
Too bad the men's hockey team can't have a third period like that! I'm looking forward to watching the women in person this weekend at Yale.

Ben

3-0 up on Yale, just over 7 minutes gone in the first. Yale is the worst team in the country.

Al DeFlorio

Women up 3-0 over hapless Yale after six minutes; shots on goal 13-0.

There is audio for RedCast subscribers if anyone is interested.

Ben

Now 5-0 with a few minutes left in the 2nd.

Weder

Anyone heard anything on why White is out?

6-1 Final. ECAC Regular Season Champs again.

Weder -- no, I haven't. Mazz has been out for a few weeks as well.

The Yale game today was a complete mismatch. The Yale goal was a soft goal, but all it meant was that it cost us the shutout. I believe the final SOG was 53-9. It was like we were on the PP the entire game. From talking to some people in the stands, Mazz has an injury which might keep her out the rest of the season.

Fun stat of the night.  The Norwich conference record:

So, the SID notes say that Saturday's game "will be the final regular-season contest for seniors Rebecca Johnston, Chelsea Karpenko, Amanda Mazzotta, Kendice Ogilvie, Catherine White and Amanda Young."

Does this mean that Erin Barley-Maloney (and perhaps Jenna Paulson) are planning to be back next year?
3/8/96

Ben

Paulson hasn't played a single game, and Barley-Maloney only played two years at UVM, so both should have one year of eligibility left. I don't know what's become of Paulson, though.

Al DeFlorio

Ohio State leading Wisconsin 3-0 after one.  First goal on a shot from the blue line that may have hit a defenseman's stick and wobbled.  Wisco controlling play but sloppy defensive play led to the second and third Buckeye goals.

Edit:  Now 3-1 with 13 min to go.

Now 3-2 with a Wisc ppg.  5 min left.
