The team involved in the crash is identified as Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

The only North American I was familiar with who was part of the team was their coach, Brad McCrimmon.  There were a few Eastern European players who also had played in the NHL who I had heard of.

No former NCAA players that I'm aware of.
