5 future Cornellians are ranked in the top 175. I'll be watching tomorrow's coverage of rounds 2-7 on the NHL Network.

I didn't get nothin', I had to pay fifty dollars and pick up the garbage.

Mark Scheifele, almost of Cornell, is the 7th overall pick to the Winnipeg Jets.

fatchance72

Brian Ferlin: Boston (4th rd / 121st overall)

Joel Lowry: LA Kings (5th Round / 140th Overall)

Philippe Hudon: DET (5th Round / 145th Overall)

mikek

Lowry taken at 140 (LA) and Hudon at 145 (Detroit) in the 5th.

Trotsky

IINM, Ferlin is the first ECAC player.

He's the highest Cornell selection since Riley, and the first Cornell pick by the Bruins since Bitz.

Trotsky

The ECAC "owns" the later rounds (your joke here).  The 3 Cornellians were the first three ECAC players taken.  Since then,

RPI (Koudys, Kasdorf)
Yale (O'Gara)
Quinnipiac (Manson)
Harvard (Michalek, Placek, Blackwell)
Brown (Robertson)

Picks 1-120: 0
Picks 121-176: 10

Redscore

Miami seemed to clean up - for whatever its worth.  The usual suspects with the odd exception of BC.  Hudon fell a lot further than I expected and Stephen Miller and Ryan not picked?  Were they in this draft?

Quote from: css228Shocked Hudon fell that far.

Now he just has to prove the doubters wrong

CAS

There should be 7 NHL draftees on next year's Cornell team.

I can't wait to watch him forecheck in Lynah

CAS

Can't wait to watch this entire deep and talented class, 10 strong, on Lynah ice.  Big early season test at Yale.  Let's Go Red!

(There's a pony in here, somewhere.) The lower the draft choice, perhaps the less pressure from the pro teams on the student-athlete to depart after the first or second year.
