Somebody get rewrite. The video contains "imbedded audio"?

I'm not quite sure what this means: The webcast won't be shown if the game is covered by broadcast TV, but in which case in the past wasn't that then the Redcast anyway? I hope it doesn't mean if the lax team fails to sell out Schoellkopf.
>>> Home events can be blacked out due to restrictions when games are being televised (users will be notified through www.CornellBigRed.com when this is the case).

It's nice that after almost a decade of spotty service qualities, Cornell acknowledges the imperfection of its past and possibly future work. Just recall how good RPI's free, student-run webcasts looked last year.

If you go into the redcast flash app, it looks like it's $70/yr or $17/mo. You can no longer buy a separate Hockey or Lacrosse season pass.

It was $69.95 last year.

Does someone have an extra tote board lying around so I can count the number of times billhoward references that this season?

That would suck.

Not as many as how often RPI fans will do that. :( (B2 Networks stated that it violated their contract for RPI TV to broadcast the games for free. They still will be available later for viewing.)

Is anyone else frustrated by the audio/video feeds not being archived in a timely manner? I missed the @ SLU and @ Clarkson games in early November and they still aren't available on archive. Neither are the v. Yale, v. Brown games from the weekend before Thanksgiving.

I was hoping to listen to those games while I got caught up on paperwork and other stuff today. :-(

I have been a subscriber for the last 3 or 4 years. The quality is pretty mediocre and has not really improved over the years. I would happily pay more for a better service. But no more for the crappy service we now have.  I also think the University is missing the boat during intermissions. A captive loyal audience could be appealed to with carefully crafted ads both on the part of CU and those wanting to sell things to Alum. Here are some things I would like to see:

Announcers (students if possible) for the Womens hockey team or others that do not get the Radio feed.
Replays
A second camera on the other side of the rink that could pan the student sections during some of the more fun moments (after a goal, start of the 3rd, Alma Mater)

Redcast is a mediocre product at best. Cornell is a premium brand and it is not really good for the brand to be associated with mediocrity.

Excellent points. Also this: Parents follow the webcasts when they can't make it to matches. If they see better quality webcasts when the players are at away matches, they realize the problem is Cornell rather than the technology.

And how about a higher camera mounting platform in Lynah?

I emailed Jeremy and the audio for the @ SLU and Clarkson games are up and the Yale/Brown games should be up by tomorrow. He did warn me that there were technical issues for the Colgate at the Rock game (apparently for both Cornell and Colgate) and they may not be able to get an audio recording of the game.

So the CU and SU sites list the women's game as "Live Audio", but the linked page for SU doesn't show it. Any ideas?
