Saying Scott Mayer backed up LeNeveu is about like me proclaiming that I am a Viet Nam Vet because I served during the Viet Nam War (& did NOT go to southeast Asia).   I had a VA Rep actually tell me once that I am a Viet Nam Vet.   It's bullshit and an insult to those who bravely trudged through those rice patties.....[/quote]
You are a Vietnam-era veteran.

"I scored some goals in the first six games and Cornell scouted me for a couple of weeks," Moulson said. "One day, they called me and asked if I wanted to play for them and I said I'd get back to them. I called my father to tell him about it and he told me to call them back right away.

"They're the first team that offered me anything. I didn't know how prestigious the school was. I called them right back and said: 'I'm coming.' They said: 'We don't know if your marks will get you in or what your financial aid will be,' but I said: 'That's okay, I'm coming anyway.'

Sorry I left out that part of the conversation with the VA Rep, Al.  I said that I was a Vietnam-era veteran.   He immediately told me that I was a "Vietnam Vet".   It was & is bullshit.  And, if I did that, I would be like Scott Mayer.   Trying to falsely associate myself with _____.   I was never shot at and neither was Scott Mayer (as a varsity player @ Cornell).  Frankly, I have no respect for people who pull stunts like that.

So, I think I've added everything so far. Let me know of errors or additions.

Cool, thanks.  Not to add more work for you or anyone, but I would find the data more useful if broken up by graduation year (whether they actually graduated or not, of course).

This is Scott...

I have never, ever claimed to have been a varsity player at Cornell, nor would I ever do so.  I have waaaaaay to much respect for the program to ever pull any garbage like that.
I have always said that the extent of my varsity experience was the red/white game my senior year, and I was very grateful to Coach Schafer for giving me that opportunity to participate.  Incidentally, Lenny didn't even play that game...  Marr and Chabot played.
I am also very proud of my time as one of the pioneers of Cornell's ACHA program (which as I see are still unbeaten this year).  My email address remains 'cornellclubhockey' to this day.
As far as my ECHL experiences... I have had the fortune of being an emergency backup for three teams in my life... but it's nothing more than being a warm body in practice and a safety net on the bench.  I'd love for someone to produce any program from any game that I did sit for, because they all clearly list my previous team as Cornell-ACHA.  I was actually quite adament that they included the ACHA as to make sure it was accurate and not misleading.
It's funny all the parallels in life, just like when I used to be a broadcaster for the weather... you say one thing, but people hear something completely different and when it doesn't add up, they make you out to be a villian.

Scott, your words were:  "I backed up David LeNeveu on the 03 team".   Maybe you had a weak moment or maybe you didn't intend it to come out that way.  But, that IS what you said.    I stand by that.  I have no personal agenda except that I hate to see things misrepresented or embellished.   I don't expect you to admit it.  But, I stand by it.  I was shocked when you said it because I knew it to be untrue.   BTW, to refresh your memory.  We had our discussion near the Lowe's checkout at the Big Flats store.   Your wife was there.  In fact she was quite proud that you are one of the biggest Cornell Hockey fans in the area.  For that, I applaud you.

Let's recap: you make an accusation that cannot be verified by anyone else, and which is denied by the target of the accusation.  He said, she said.

Tell me: what good is going to come of this?  I recommend dropping it.

I have absolutely no problem dropping the issue...  I just felt the need to defend myself from some pretty nasty things that were being said, and I'd prefer to nip any rumors in the bud before they spread even further.

To Kyle...  I'm sorry that I do not even remember the discussion.  You have to forgive me, because when I was in Elmira, I would have conversations with dozens of people per day on a wide variety of topics and years later, it's all just mish-mashed together.

The only Lenny story I ever like to tell is of the morning skate before the Red/White game when he and I played rebound against each other and I won.  It's really a self-depracting thing since he was already a second round pick, and I like to put myself down by saying my greatest achievement in hockey was beating Lenny in a meaningless game at a meaningless practice before a different meaningless game.  Perhaps I mentioned that?

I get the feeling that we will not come to an agreement here, but I think things were becoming a bit malicious towards me, with implications that anywhere I go, I tout myself as an alum of the varsity team, when it simply is just not the case.

At this point, I'm ready to move past this whole issue.

Scott, don't forget he also mocked your weather forecasting abilities.  You're not gonna let him get away with that, are you?
I'm the one who views hockey games merely as something to do before going to Rulloff's and Dino's.

LOL!  Awesome.  This makes a lot more sense now.  Thanks for being such a good sport, Scott.  Also, be aware that I grew up in the S. Tier and my parents guaranteed spend more time paying attention to the WETM weather forecast than they ever did any goaltender for any hockey team in the area (1st stringer or otherwise).  Glad to see who you post as, and happy to know that Elmira news organizations have Cornellians embedded there.

Same here.  Nothing can come of pursuing this further.:-)

Unfortunately (or fortunately... depending from what angle) I am no longer in the So. Tier.  It was a great three years for sure, but I have moved on.  That being said, my former intern from Cornell (no jokes please) is employed at WETM as their weekend meteorologist, so Cornell is still represented quite well in their weather department.

And Kyle can make fun of the forecasting skills all he wants... I know he still tuned in ;-)

I had forgotten that Nick graduated from Cornell.   I rather enjoy his accent.
