I'm sure he'd trade it for the win on Monday in a heartbeat, but what a wonderful accolade.  Prior to the Final Four he seemed to be a darkhorse; but his obvious leadership and poise (and gushing praise by the ESPN team) must have turned the tide in his favor.  It also probably didn't hurt that Cornell gained a lot of respect even in losing, and Max was emblematic of this team.

What an emotional ride - win player of the year, win midfielder of the year, win Lowe's Senior Class award, beat Virginia in national semi's, graduate, lose national championship game, get drafted, win Tewaarton.  All in a week's time.

Congrats Max.

Takes some sting off of Monday's loss, however little.

And to think that he never won Ivy Player of the Year.

Congratulations, Max!

Cornell's first winner and only the second third (forgot about Danowski) to win the award without winning a national championship.

Gotta love all the 'Cuse homers in the comments.  Some of them just have to have everything, don't they?

Didn't see this posted elsewhere...

Max's winning of the Tewaaraton earned him a mention (and a picture) in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" (along with the women's winner from Northwestern.)

Lengthy Inside Lacrosse FanZone interview with Seibald here: http://insidelacrosse.com/page.cfm?pagerid=20&id=207640&hidecontent=yes

I suspect many of the questions are from the eLynah gang here.
