Just got an Email from the BU ticket office officially announcing that "Red Hot Hockey is back" on Saturday, 11/28/09 at 8PM.

Ticketmaster is apparently conducting a pre-sale for BU "Advantage Members" this Thursday (3/12), with the message also stating that tickets for the general public go on sale the next day (Friday, 3/13) at noon.

You'll be able to choose seats in either the Cornell or BU "sections" via the Ticketmaster ordering page...not sure if I remember being able to do that last year.

The event page at Ticketmaster is here (which also confirms what the BU Email said):

Surprised we haven't heard anything from the Cornell ticket office yet.

This was definitely an option last year.  It just didn't seem to matter because the majority of fans were from Cornell anyway.

Hopefully we'll hear something from Cornell before then.  I think two years ago you could order from the Cornell Box Office which got you out of being hosed by Ticketmaster fees.

Of course, this comes at a pretty bad time for the Cornell ticket office, handling NCAA BBall, and the ECACHL playoffs.

Did CU have tickets anywhere other than the 300 level last time?  I ended up with 200 level through ticketmaster last time because CU only had 300's by the time I called.  I'd rather not pay ticketmaster fees again.

Seriously?  It's MARCH!  This really needs to be done eight months in advance?

You mean the mega Big East squeakball Tourney in which every team gets to play isn't bringing in enough dough to MSG? ::wtf::

A part of me was hoping that DePaul (with zero conference wins) would have a great week and run the table and knock a decent team out of the tourney.

Although it probably wouldn't change things for most leagues (hockey included, except for HE and AH tourneys that take the top 8 teams) who think these conference tourneys should be "open" to all comers, no matter what their league record.

Okay, off the soapbox so that people can complain about how unfair it is that they will have to lend ticketscalper/MSG money for tickets to an event that is more than 8 months away.

(BTW, how many more days do I have before I have to give the NC$$ money 13 months before the 2010 FF? ::flipd::)

Quote from: AthleticsWith the overwhelming success of Red Hot Hockey between Cornell and Boston University during the 2007-08 season, the Big Red and Terriers will again clash at Madison Square Garden during the upcoming 2009-10 season on Thanksgiving weekend, and you're invited to have the first chance at securing the best seats in the house!

Cornell and Boston University will meet on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 8 p.m. at Madison Square Garden in a rematch of the November 24, 2007, meeting between the two squads that marked the first time a college hockey game had sold out the "World's Most Famous Arena."

A special pre-sale for Cornell Athletics VIPs will be held for ONE DAY ONLY on Thursday, March 12, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. VIPs may place their pre-orders for tickets by calling the Cornell Athletic Ticket Office at 607-255-4247. Sorry, tickets will not be available at the box office windows until Friday, March 13.

Ticket prices when purchased from the Cornell Athletics Ticket Office are as follows:

Lower Bowl: $65 + $5 handling fee

100-200 Levels: $35 + $3 handling fee

300-400 Levels: $25 + $3 handling fee

300-400 Levels (for Cornell students): $15 + $1 handling fee

**all handling fees are per ticket**

Fans can also pre-order tickets by going to www.Ticketmaster.com and using the promotional code HPBIGRED to ensure seats in the Cornell section. Different fees will apply.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 13, at the Cornell Athletic Ticket Office at 10 a.m., and will be available for sale prior to Cornell's ECAC Hockey quarterfinal series game one against Rensselaer on Friday night. Tickets for this weekend's quarterfinal series are also still available at the Cornell Athletic Ticket Office.

If it's actually a "handling fee" then why does it vary based on ticket price?

Do CHA members count as VIPs?

Also, where did you get this from?  There's nothing on http://www.cornellbigred.com/index.aspx?tab=icehockey&path=mhockey and I haven't received an email yet.
