Thanks for posting this.  Dan is a role model for dedicated players in all sports.  John Irving wrote a really great piece concerning the character of teammates who know they'll never be first string.  In Irving's case it was too much for him to remain a second string wrestler at Pitt.

We owe Dan DiLeo and all the character players a big thank you.

(Irving's memoir is found in "Trying to Save Piggy Snead".)
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Great kid. Great article.

Confusing page turn from 3 to 4.

Saw Dan play in Albany last year against Colgate. I remember commenting  as he came on the ice that he had the "deer in the headlights" look that LeNeveau used to have before games. Interesting that he admits to not knowing what was coming or what to expect.

Dan has been an incredible role player and should be an inspiration to all student athletes at any level.  I was thrilled for him (and thanks to the Lynah Faithful for their understanding and appreciation) that he got a few minutes between the pipes at a home game.
