The Red Army? I like it.[/quote] Trying to copy RPI again? :-P (Not that RPI's Red Army isn't a poorly executed attempt to mimic some aspects of the Lynah crowd.)

I think the Red Army is OK (not poorly executed). I would rather see screaming fans excited about the game - which at times is what the Red Army provides.

This weekend Houston had two good crowds and a bit of extra interest.  (Black Friday auction/raffle of black jerseys and staff night on Saturday.)  Nice to hear noise and the games were OK too.

Any idea whether Puckman will return?

A very impressive win.  I've been going to Cornell games for 25+ years and this is the fastest Cornell team that I've seen in many years.  It looks like this is a team that can win on the big Olympic ice rinks.  Romano reminds me of Brock Tredway, Scott was fantastic and really frustrated the bulldogs into dumb penalties.  Barlow, Seminoff, and Gallagher were also exciting to watch.  We clearly have the speed to skate with the teams out west, while Bitz, Carefoot, Mugford, Nash, McCutcheon, and Krantz give us tremendous size and power as well.  Yes, we lost some great players at the end of last year, but the freshman class looks excellent.

I couldn't figure out a way to put it without woofing, but I agree.  Last night, I was thinking, "If only the Minnesota fans saw us now!"  We are a very different team than two years ago, and we may not make it to the NCAAs this year, but if we do, we'll certainly turn a lot of western heads.

Yep, Jim, just back from a trans-Atlantic.  Missed four wins.  Maybe I should book another one soon.  Will be at QU in two weeks.  Hope all goes well.

I have to agree with most of what's been said here.  At Brown, I saw the Cornell team I expected to see, given our losses on defense and our freshmen-heavy squad.  I believe we won that game despite ourselves, though it's also not like Brown deserved to win it, either.

But at Yale, I kept checking to make sure I was in the right building, watching the right game.  Speed?  Crisp, clean passing?  Stickhandling?  Creativity on the rush?  Size and effort in the corners instead of just size?  Really, it was a pleasure to watch, if a little surprising.

For me, the best part was that the three-goal cushion allowed Schafer to roll the freshmen almost the entire third period.  And admittedly it's early yet, but I haven't been this excited about a group of Cornell freshmen since 1999-2000.

And that's all I'll say about that.

Btw, does anyone know if the QU game will *really* be at the Northford Ice Arena? ::yark::

Hey, Keith, if everyone chips in enough I could probably be in South America by Friday night. ::banana::

If we find it necessary to deport Al, I can chip in $6.95 the refund I got from CSTV for this weekend's No-Access service. In a previous thread someone suggested that giving CSTV $$ was like throwing it out a car window. So instead of doing that, (or burning it in my fireplace), I can put it towards Al's South American holiday fund :-).

Thanks, Rita.  That'll get me part way to Logan Airport.  I probably am a better investment of everyone's funds than No-Access, come to think of it.

Did you get to Italy yet, Rita?  Maybe credit for the four wins should go to you, instead?
