USILA poll 3/20/2006. Cornell is third, fifth last week, sixth before. A week from now we'll be in first or second, or back around fifth. Wonder if everyone we beat winds up with two points in the poll a week or two later?

The Red claim the top spot from the Swami in his Top 16 this week: http://www.laxswami.com/tw06-05.html

Swami grudgingly puts Cornell #1:

>>> Cornell was riding in 5th place in (last week's) USILA Poll. At that spot last week, the Big Red were clearly overrated. True, Cornell was undefeated, but its four wins came over Lehigh, Binghamton, Army, and Notre Dame--and the Notre Dame win was distinctly unimpressive (9-6). Cornell belonged no higher than somewhere in the #7-#10 range until it beat someone higher. That happened last Tuesday, when Cornell defeated Duke in Durham. Since Duke was the Swami's #1 team, and Cornell has no losses, that title is now forfeited to Cornell.

He has to get some credit for pretty much nailing Cornell's final placement in his season preview each of the last four or so seasons.

Hopefully he's way off this year because he was pretty down on the Red preseason.

You can be smart and a pretentious windbag at the same time :)

Can't argue with that.

Yes, but he knows he's a pretentious windbag.  Swami strikes me as a smart guy wrapped in an outrageous persona.  Kind of like a more extreme version of Greg. :-}
