A fellow Whaler's fan!  Not too many of us around, although there are more than I would have expected.  I saw all three Howes play when I was a little kid.  Agree with you on Shanahan (certainly no Dineen) and definitely on Karmanos.  What an a**hole he was when made the offer about keeping the team if a certain number of season tickets were bought.  Fans did an awesome job, doubling season tickets for last season in Hartford, but, of course, all that did was add to Karmanos's pockets since he obviously never intended to honor the deal.
