The Big Red pep band driving 375 miles to Boston, that's dedication, but they saw a good game by a nationally ranked team against its fiercest rival. The Columbia [what do you call it? band? loosely spoken, I suppose] band drove fewer miles but for a lousy team that doesn't have much on-campus support.

It sounds as if the Big Red pep band got more people to Harvard than the entire Columbia precision marching band sent to Ithaca.

Did you expect anything else? YES has the option this week and wants to show an Ivy Champ. It's stay home in NYC and do Brown 1,000 Columbia 0 or go all the way to NH to see Princeton 42 Dartmouth 6. Why leave home?

Of course the other two games will be better football, but they won't mean anything.

Middling ability + strong work ethic + growth spurt = possible opportunity to be big fish in small pond.  See "Marcellus Wiley."

AND got them all in the rink this time! :-D  They didn't even bother to count heads or check the extra tickets we bought at all.  We should show up at the rink at 11:00am for every single away game from here on out.  Hooray for Lynah East.

In the Columbia band's defense, they sounded better on the field this year than I've ever heard them.  In the stands was quite something else.

I don't think he was a "middling ability" guy (especially for the Ivies). He was more of a "go to college in New York City" and "realizes how few people play pro football" guy.

And then a "growth spurt" guy who got a few good years in the NFL anyway.
