Wow.  I'm surprised.  Leopold won as a defensman.  What a week to be a Minnesota fan.

Anyone else watch the show?  I missed the first half, so I don't know if there was a rundown of the top 10, including Murray.

Maybe there's hope for a defensman next year??

Damn, Rich, I was gonna post this but you're just too fast.  :-D

Pretty cool that they were open-minded enough to give it to a defenseman when there were high-profile forwards like Haydar and Hartigan in the running.  On one hand, they're willing to give it to a defenseman, which is good; on the other hand, they might not want to give it to a defenseman two years in a row, which is bad.  Guess we'll just have to watch the games and see.

But hey, what the hell:  Murray For Hobey 2003!  :-)

There's hope, though... defensemen have won the Hobey back-to-back once before, in 1983 (Harvard's Mark Fusco) and 1984 (Minnesota-Duluth's Tom Kurvers).

Leopold was also a first-team All-American and a Hobey nominee last year... hmm, sounds familiar...
