Cornell Hockey To Be Televised This Weekend

ITHACA, N.Y. -- If you didn't get tickets for this weekend's NCAA Men's Hockey East Regional Championships you can still catch the Big Red in action via DirecTV, the Dish Network or on Time Warner Cable in Ithaca.

Fox Sports New England will show all four regional games this weekend  live from the Centrum Centre in Worcester, Mass.  FSNE is available on DirecTv on channel 620, but you have to have the "Sports Pak" package or higher to get this channel.

FSNE is also available via the Dish Network, channel 435 (satellite: 119).  You must have one of the following packages to get FSNE on the Dish:  America's Everything Pak, America's Top 100 CD, America's Top 150 or Multi Sport.

Games featuring Maine will be blacked out in the state of Maine, but the NCAA assures that those with FSNE as part of their satellite packages will be able to see the games everywhere else across nation.

Time Warner Cable in Ithaca will also show Cornell in action this weekend.  Tune in to channel 77 for Saturday's game, which starts at 3:30 p.m.  If the Big Red beats Quinnipiac in the first round, TWC will also broadcast Sunday's game vs. New Hampshire.

Saturday's game vs. Quinnipiac will also be shown on Fox Wisconsin, while the Sunday game is also being picked up by Fox North.

A complete television broadcast schedule of all championship games can be found at www.ncaachampionships.com.

Even if there is a sellout? Does Fox Sports just hate lobstermen?

I would assume the blackout is because some local, over the air, station has the rights to the Maine games and will be showing them.

Yeah, WBAI in Bangor is broadcasting the Maine games.

Since Time Warner Cable in Ithaca recently added the YES Network to their lineup, Sunday's second-round game will be on that channel (74) rather than carried specially on channel 77.
