I think so...that was before my time but somewhere I read about all the various radio shows he had.

Currently, I think he still hosts a morning talk show on WEVD 1050 in New York.  It's not sports...mostly deals with current events.

He did the "stump Bill" thing for years...right up to his final days on Ch 5 TV.  Amazing recall.  His comments on the Knicks glory years (69-73) were incredible...how he characterized what was one of one of the most interesting cast of personalities in sports IMHO...in my time.

Very knowlegeable about the Jackie Robinson era also.  A real New Yawker!  :-D

He did mornings on WEVD up until about 7 months ago, when WEVD became an affiliate of ESPN Radio.

Anyone else notice that the YES network commercials for the NCAA tourney have clips of Cornell playing North Dakota?

The first book of sports trivia that my partents bought for me (after they realized that I had an "interest-in-sports" gene that is quite recessive in my family) was by Bill Mazer. I still open it up from time to time.  My parents didn't know who he was, so I thought it was really cool when I made the connection from the book on my shelf to the guy on Channel 5.

any idea where he can be heard now?

Will the game be interspersed with the West Regional which begins before the CU-QU game ends?

I think YES is carrying something else (a Yankees game, perhaps) Saturday afternoon.  Ithaca TWC will be carrying CU-QU on a different channel, though the Sunday game will be on YES.

I hope the Sunday game will be on YES.  I missed getting a copy of the Saturday game because I didn't put my order in with my Boston buddy.  I did see the game live.  Priceless.;-)
