Just noticed that the Canisius game is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, rather than over the holiday weekend...[/Q]
That is a bizarre piece of scheduling. Is there a redeye out of Ithaca for students who want to catch the game before heading home? [/Q]
Are there no Wednesday classes?[/q]

There are, or at least there should be. Break officially starts at 1:25pm on Wednesday.

[q] couldn't imagine Cornell agreeing to play Michigan State without it being a one year there, one year here series.[/q]

Certainly, boys, what else? The piper pays him!"

It doesn't really work out that way.  The CCHA and WCHA schools have huge barns with huge revenue, and even when the status of the programs is roughly equal (which they aren't), they still aren't going to give up that revenue very often.

You mean classes held, or classes attended ...  the day before Thanksgiving?

[q]That is a bizarre piece of scheduling.[/q]It's not really bizarre at all.  I don't think there have been too many mid week November games lately (without looking) but I know I went to a few Thanksgiving week Tuesday night games in the 90s, both at Lynah and one on the road.

The last time Maine came to Lynah...let's see sophomore year would make it...Nov '98...was on a Tuesday. Melissa had to miss it due to an orgo prelim.

Wow, a prelim the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving.  That's brutal.

But I think the Tuesday night game in November 1998 was at Northeastern.  I was at the Maine game at Lynah, which I think was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving 2000, because we played them again in the first Everblades final the same year.  And it was also Shawn Walsh's last season.

you have a much better memory than me...as you can't see I can't really remember back more than a year or two. i wonder what game it was I was thinking of or what prelim she had...

I think all games were at 8:00 PM then.

So the argument here is that we can't easily schedule major OOC opponents at home without a bigger rink?  I'm surprised no one's jumped into the expansion discussion again.    ::uhoh::

Doubtful. Cornell's been throwing bones to MAAC (or whatever the hell they're called now) schools the last few years. I don't think Schafer has much interest in making them reciprocal arrangements to play in front of dozens of fans in a high school rink. Hell, I'm sure the visiting MAAC schools love playing at Cornell since their chunk of the gate is proably about what they get at home for the whole year. I'll stop Atlantic Hockey-bashing now...

true, Age. I understand what you are saying but do you think it is BS if the teams from the frozen four this year say the same about ecac teams? and dont dash my hopes of seeing a game in 2 years :) ::help::

Looks like the Canisius game has been moved from Tuesday before Thanksgiving to the Saturaday afterwards.  That kind of sucks for attendance, I'd think there'd be more people staying on Tuesday than coming back early on Sat.
