Fourth place now goes to those talentless wonders from Cambridge (Allston, really).  Looks like DJ Powers forgot to talk to Coach Mazz before writing this article.

From a quick glance it looks like the ranking is simply based on the average number of points per game cumulative for all NHL draftees on the roster. Considering we've got 7 and Hahvahd has 13 they should be ahead of us.  All things considered, being 9th on this list isn't too shabby.

The good news is, assuming we can return to our previous point production ways, we probably can't fall off the chart, since each of our NHL draftees are non-seniors.  In fact, perhaps one or two of next year's incoming freshmen, such as Sawada, will get drafted in the meantime.

Is next year here yet?

Below is the mid-term edition of the ranking of the top schools in the nation according to the performance of their NHL prospects. This is based upon the performances of all skaters only and do not include goaltenders nor goaltending statistics (with the exception of assists). However, several of the listed schools do have goaltenders among their prospects and as such are noted in parenthesis.

guess not :) i also misunderstood the rankings for a sec there ::screwy::

The Rancor

plus, our goalies are not, as of yet, drafted by any team. how old is mckee any way? did he slip under the draft radar last year or is he up this year?

McKee will be 21 in either June, November, or December, depending on which web site you believe.  (USCHO gives his birthdate as 06/05/83, the official site gives it as 12/05/83, and CHS gives it was 11/05/83.)  In any case, I think the fact that he's already 20 makes him too old to be drafted, right?

I have spoken with McKee personally about his draft status and he no longer has one.  Last year's draft was the last one he was eligible for and was not selected.  He is therefore a free agent.  Unless a team really wants him, no team will have his professional rights until after he graduates.
