Well it appears Spirit is slightly better.  

And as of right now....12:15 pm EST, there are lots of cheering people on NASA TV in the control room at JPL.  Apparently Opportunity has reached the surface and is still transmitting.  Obviously more important stuff to come.

Article about Opportunity landing.  Right now there is a picture of Steve Squeyres talking to the Governator.  Who, by the way, is the only one who has been to Mars (Total Recall).  Hopefully the good news will keep coming.
