Good.  Looks like we'll have a bit more depth this year.

As has been mentioned plenty, lack of depth was our Achilles heal last season.

Piper Grober (CAN) and Rose Dwyer (USA) made the national development team rosters for the U.S.-Canada series that starts today in Vancouver. I haven't looked closely, but I think there is at least one commit on both the U.S. and Canadian U-18 teams that are also playing starting today in Vancouver.

😂 I've overnighted at the airport in Salt Lake City once, I've had flights land in NYC at 2 AM and had to figure my way home... but even I don't think I could handle a Penn Station nap.

This is GREAT news ngl and I'm now strongly considering skipping Frozen Apple entirely - Maine is a fun team but not a team that I'd be willing to brave Penn Station at 3 AM for... Plus, not only does noon puck drop really suck to get to and back from, there's effectively no ability to hang out pregame. And after it, well, if we get our asses kicked nobody's going to want to do anything. And after 3-4 PM on a Saturday the museums and shit will be closed (yes I am secretly Dougie Hamilton) so the only stuff left is clubbing (no) or tourist traps like Times Square (also no).

Not to say I didn't have a great time the Sunday after Red Hot wandering around the Oculus, the market at Bryant Park, and Hudson Yards before I had to go. But I have a 9 AM class on Mondays 😂

My current "concepts of a travel plan" I'm working on is trying to catch the PIT @ BUF preseason game on the 26th of September (which would be my first NHL game). But even there, I'm trying to weigh it against Applefest on the same weekend, because if I did that I'd want to leave Friday and come back probably Sunday... two nights in a hotel... but I would get probably 2 days in Buffalo, and I do want to visit there... but I'd miss Applefest...

One of my friends from undergrad recently got a job in Bingo, and they're a HUGE hockey person. I might annoy them to see if they'd be down to go splitsies.

But I also absolutely want to do an Amerks game this year and couple it with a Rochester weekend. Ideally also get to go to a Comets game, but I don't know if there's any shit to do in Utica besides eat a half-moon cookie and go home.

Guh. I need to check hockey schedules.
