Thought I'd start a new thread, just in case anyone cares.

I was there last night (game 1).  It was very exciting for a baseball game (even for this Yankee fan).   Drop the puck already.

Cubs in 7.

Then an meteor will hit the earth because we all know that we'd never see a Cubs-Sox series  ::nut::

Incorrect. The meteor will hit the Earth immediately following the ninth inning of a tied game 7 between the Cubs and the Red Sox.  Root for the Yankees to save the world.   (I just can't encourage rooting for the Marlins - since nobody in Florida roots for the Marlins.)

Didn't they say they drew some 150-odd thousand people for the games in Florida in the division series?

130,000.  Sold out twice at 65,000 a pop.

But, as everyone knows, they're nowhere to be seen during the regular season.

You'll see it if it's a Yanks/Marlins Series.  There will be (at least) 20,000 Yanks fans down at Joe Robbie.

There's something a little bit disconcerting about the Yankees saving the world....I can't quite put my finger on it........there are the Evil Empire after all....

If it comes to Yankees-Marlins (which would really suck), I'd join the Floridians and root for the fish!
