The announced the 2007 & 2008 Frozen Four sites today (St. Louis and Denver), as well as rounding out the regional sites through 2007.  I thought is was pretty interesting that Rochester is hosting a regional in 2007, hosted by the ECAC as a whole, not one school in particular.

So what happens if those whispers about the ECAC schools breaking off and forming their own hockey conference are true?  Could Cornell or Colgate or someone jump in and host, or would it still be hosted by the conference as a whole?  I've never seen anything like that before.

And Rochester?   ::yark::

The Frozen Four was co-hosted in Buffalo by the MAAC, and in Albany by the ECAC.  Anyway, having a regional in Rochester is better than having them both in New England and using that as an excuse to send ECAC teams West.  (I know that's not how they did it this year, but the committee's whims can change.)

Perhaps the best news is that we get four Yost-free years.::rolleyes::

Even better...no olympic ice.

I believe the Manchester, NH, site is of some concern.  I've never thought Albany, Worcester, or Providence would give any team a "home ice" advantage, but Manchester clearly will.  Mullins will, as well, if Cahoon can ever get UMass to qualify.  Also, Mullins has a 200x95 sheet, which is too close to "Olympic" for my taste.

Once we beat UNH on neutral ice I'll start worrying about their home-ice advantage.

Quite frankly, I'll be glad if we get seeded in the east next year (or even seeded at all for that matter).
