Headline; "Ian Shane Struggled to Adjust to College Hockey. Practicing Mindfulness Helped Him Excel."

Also, seems like Shane's a bit of an eccentric (or our intrepid author doesn't know the proper equipment name).

"Big moments don't rattle Shane. After making 33 saves on 34 shots against the nation's top team, Shane emerged from the locker room, removed his top hat and said that watching Quinnipiac put up nine goals against Princeton earlier that week didn't concern him and just made him think they hadn't faced Cornell."

I'm pretty sure he literally removed a top hat he had been wearing in the locker room after the hockey game. This sentence was not meant to describe a goalie mask.

Eccentric it is then

French Rage

It just reminds me of a classier time when men wore suits in the stands and goalies wore top hats during play.  Lorne Chabot once played an entire game with a dinner coat on.

Some goalies wore two monocles at once as a sort of rudimentary mask.

Wasn't that an episode of Hogan's Heroes?
