Given this seed that it's a student fan organization I did a search and it seems to have gotten its start as "The Jardin Jungle" similar to "Newman Nation" in basketball and how all nicknamed things must be alliterative these days. Beware this website I found; It's so old, it's best viewed using Internet Explorer and it was made when Princeton tuition was only $40,000.

Yet, in trying to support Princeton athletics, the club can only be as effective as the number of members which we have.

I can almost see this sentence fragment surviving a "which hunt" (Strunk & White). But can one pass 1^st year English Composition at Princeton with such superfluous verbiage as the redundant "which we have"?
