The guys doing ESPN Radio's Gameday were sent an email asking for thoughts on UMich/UMN. One said he thought it was a great matchup bought thought the Cornell/UHN winner would take all. The other said he liked Cornell over Michigan in the final  because of the small sheet in Boston.
Maybe my ears were deceiving me, but yes it sounded like he said the small sheet in boston would be to our advantage.

Maybe he was predicting the winner of next year's Frozen Four.  *shrug*

I'm not sure how the small sheet would help us over Michigan, but it'd be an advantage against Minnesota, who play their home games on Olympic ice.

Interesting to note that according to KRACH, Cornell had the toughest first- and second-round opponents (#11 and #5 in the Selection Sunday KRACH http://uscho.com/rankings/?data=krachsel ) of any 1-seed, and now has the toughest possible opponent (#3 as of Selection Sunday, #2 now) in the semis.  At least no one can say the committee made it EZ for us.

I think most would agree the two strongest leagues overall this year were the HEA and WCHA.  

To get to the championship game Cornell will have had to beat the two teams that tied for first in the HEA regular season--one of which was its tournament champion--and one of the two teams that tied for second in the WCHA.  And should Cornell get to that championship game it would likely face the "other" second place WCHA team--which also happens to be its tournament champion--for the big enchilada.  

No easy row to hoe, for sure.
