Flanagan was a forward at SLU who scored 12 goals and 52 points in 121 games (0.42 points per game). He had about half a point per game in his one year of pro hockey (14-11-5 in 48 games).  So no offensive powerhouse as a player by the stats.  Anyone have a recollection of him on the ice?

My memory of him is he was Kyle Flanagan's brother.

Is there typically a division of labor among the assistants -- one concentrates on scouting/recruiting while the other coaches the current personnel?  If so, which way did Ben and Topher break down?  This suggests Flanagan has been brought in to scout.

I don't know if there is a typical division of labor, as you suggest, but Topher's blog post, linked to in another thread, certainly made it sound like he would have been on the road quite a bit. Presumably much of that time would have been spent scouting and recruiting. Here's the excerpt I'm referring to:

"Knowing that I'd have to spend another 200+ days per year on the road, away from family, is tough."
