7 consecutive ECAC wins vs non-ECAC teams in the last two tournaments.

This is really good for Cornell.

The non-Cornell ECAC has now won 9 games between 2013 and the opening game of 2014.

If you exclude Cornell, the league accounted for 9* wins between 1992 and 2012. Cornell won 8 between 1992 and 2012.

* Includes win by UVm in '96.

And all of that means way less now that the other ECAC schools have surpassed us.  Also it's interesting to note that during the "glory days" of Mike Schafer that we on these boards hold in such high regard, Cornell was actually less successful than multiple ECAC teams have been in the past few years.

Thank you Providence/Ferris State, though!

Union will defend the conference honor alone.  Colgate loses 1-0 to Ferris State in a game very reminiscent of our loss 2 years ago, and Q is getting destroyed by Providence 4-zip late in the 2nd.

did not expect this from Q.  Not that I expected an easy battle or anything, but I didn't expect a complete domination from Providence over Q.

Sorry "Union" and "Honor" do not go together, at least until someone else hires B*nnett.

Just remember, RPI, Cornell and Union together make up Ned-a-tron.

Wisco-NoDak tied at 1 after 1 in a very entertaining game.

But Union was the only one that ditched him. :)

Ned actually resigned at Union, after he, the university president who hired him and the hockey team were the focal point of a large and nasty controversy over the importance of athletics at Union.  The straw that broke the camel's back was when someone in the administration leaked the grades of certain hockey players to the school newspaper which published them.  If I remember correctly, four players who were going to be put on academic probation and not play for a semester found out about it from the newspaper before they or Ned were informed.  Ned felt that if he removed himself it might take the heat off his players.

NDak scores 2 ENGs and beats Wisconsin 5-2. Ironically, it was Wisconsin winning the Big 6/10/12/14 title (rather than Ohio State) that gave NDak the last at large bid.
