Here is the third part of my series on the Lynah Faithful. A lot of the events I talked about happened in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, so if any of you were around for those times, please give me your input (and of course feel free to give input regardless of age). I tried to make this as accurate as possible, as I talked to some very old alums, and did extensive research, but please let me know if there is anything here that isn't correct.

Something that those of us in the Class of 1972 happen to share with the Class of 1971.  For those two classes, in our four years as undergrads at Cornell, the men's hockey team lost only one (1) game at home. There are very few hockey programs that have that kind of home record.

From the mid 1960s through 1974, playing at Lynah was truly a daunting experience for opponents.

In my four years, they lost 7 home games (3, 3, 1, 0), including a 1-2-1 record against Dartmouth, the only team to get them twice at Lynah. Still can't compare to a perfect four years!

I watched them play for six years before I saw them lose a game!   Admittedly, I did not see every game.   But, I saw a LOT of home games, some S.I.T.'s and four ECAC tournaments.

The first loss for me?   9-0 to BU in Dec 1972.....   Later turned around by forfeit.   Jesus, that was a devastating night!!

Providence @ CU, March 6, 1979 is still and will always be the most exciting sporting event of my life.   An amazing moment in time!!

Jeff -- you are correct.  My eyes must have slipped a line.  That makes four consecutive seasons without a home loss.
