That's one heck of a schedule.

BC, Minnesota, Q, BU - not a bad hockey schedule either.

One is tempted to jest: The years before Jesus was born. But that's not important, Shirley.

Cornell plays St. John's in the opening round of the Preseason NIT on the campus of Boston College.  The other game is Boston College vs. Loyola (Md).  The winners then play each other for the right to go to MSG for the semifinals.  Losers play in a consolation game.

The NIT guarantees Cornell four games.  If the Big Red dont advance to MSG, they will be re-seeded and placed in another region for 2 more games.  Here are the teams in the NIT:

This is good stuff. Love all the new Philadelphia opponents, especially the road game at St. Joe's. Adding Atlantic 10 teams seems like a sustainable and convenient way to improve the schedule and increase alumni exposure at the same time.

I'm pretty happy that I'll get to listen to the St. John's game on the radio. It's a game the Red could (should? too soon to tell.) win.

I believe the NIT games will all be on ESPN, but still waiting for confirmation.

You must mean the games at MSG, right? I can't imagine that they will air all of the pod games. Sure, we want to watch Cornell - St. John's but that might not match the ratings they get from women's 9-ball if Jeanette Lee is playing.

I think you're probably right about the pod games... however, if we indeed play St. John's, then it will assuredly be televised on the local NY cable stations. 100% in NY Metro, and pretty likely throughout the state (MSG or SNY via ESPNPlus)

I mean ALL of the games.  For example, last year I watched Columbia at Ohio State in the preseason NIT on ESPN.

Still hard to believe, by the majority of Cornellians, those 100,000-plus who went through after the the 1960s and before say the last 5 years, that Cornell basketball is regarded so highly. In-freakin'-credible.

We had games in Barton Hall when even 2,000 was too much seating, and now we again need Barton-type capacity, just not the drafty atmosphere. Parquet laid over the Lynah ice?

Sounds good. Except for the fact that Newman holds 206 more spectators than Lynah.

I still like the the Barton Hall idea. Or at the very least, dress up Newman with some more red and white.
