Simplicity drives re-emergence of Nash

Nice article in today's IJ about the return of Nash.

As I said before, my thoughts are that he isn't back to the level of ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team and Preseason All-ECAC Team that he has shown he can play at.  His hands are great and he does seem to improve with every weekend.  I hope by the time we play Clarkson again, Nash will be back to 100%.

After the piece on Brendon is one on Greening, followed immediately by a few paragraphs on home grown Cornell recruit Kevin Cole.  I wonder whether he'll be heading to Namaimo in the interim.

Ithaca's Kevin Cole took place in the American Hockey League's All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday in Binghamton. Cole, a member of the Junior A Binghamton Jr. Senators, was one of the AHL's four amateur invitees to participate alongside the pros — and he made quite an impression.

Cole won the fastest skater competition amongst his peers by completing a lap of the rink in 14.739 seconds.

To put that in perspective, Cole's time was less than three-quarters of a second slower than the AHL's fastest skate, Iowa's Toby Petersen. Not bad for a kid who will turn just 17 in February.

Oh, and by the way, Cole has committed to Cornell for either the 2009-10 or 2010-11 season.
