These announcers are ridiculous.  Besides the fact that they are completely obnoxious, I love how "Scrivens" gradually morphed into "ScrivNER" throughout the broadcast. Also, "one of the great games of RIT hockey history"? That says a lot about RIT hockey.

I think it says more just as much about Cornell.

Edit: that's a bit too far...

It's a big win for their program.  I can understand their excitement.  They were D-3 just a couple years ago, and I don't think they've ever beaten an NC D-1 opponent.

They beat St. Lawrence shortly after turning D-1.  10/28/05

Sorry, but when they say this is "up there" with national championship games, that's being a little myopic.  Definitely a big win for the D1 chapter of the program, no doubt.  But they came very close to knocking off Colgate two weeks ago, and will be a very good competition for many other schools in the future.  Personally, I'd love to see them in the ECAC instead of Union.

That said, the radio guys put in quite the amateur performance.  In a one goal game with less than 10 minutes to go, they should be CALLING THE GAME, and not making "School of Animal Husbandry" or "cinnamon gum" jokes.  I generally think that stuff is funny if all they want to do is to remain local homers, but do it during intermission, or at the very least, not during play, and don't taunt your opponents.

We probably should work on developing our "pool" of thread starters. My record wasn't very good last year, so I should be way down on the depth chart.[/quote]

Ick.  I resign.  Since the team is within a 2-hour drive of me for much of November, I won't be able to start any for a while anyway.

But that RPI-RIT commute would be a killer.::burnout::

Having said that, I agree with you.
