QuoteThe forum's at eLynah were already buzzing with speculation over who will fill Davenports place in the net.

It's bad enough we have to deal with this shit once a year (April 1).  Do they really need another day to act juvenile? ::rolleyes::

Fake news only works well when the newspaper isn't a joke the other 363 days of the year ;)

Not to hop on the Sun-bashing bandwagon (because I don't mean to), but while an April Fool's issue makes sense, fake articles on Halloween do not.  Go write for The Onion.

Looks like it was so funny that they took their entire server offline.  Joke's on us.

Call me biased, but I thought the fake stories were funny. :)  And I like having joke article days besides April 1 -- makes it a bit more of a surprise.

I don't necessarily have a problem in principle with fake stories on another day than April Fool's but I'd never heard of anyone, let alone the Sun, doing it.  Not sure they were funny, but that's a different question.

You're still horribly biased!!!

The Sun almost definitely does jokes for more than just April Fool's.  I think they usually pick one or two days a semester.  It's been so long, I forget.  I think they used to do even more, actually.

Back in the old days, the Sun used to run fake stories every Fall Weekend. I remember my freshman year, the lead story was that the Arts and Science School was going to become a state school. There were a lot of worried freshman in my dormitory that day!

I concur with this reference to the stupidity of undergraduates.  That's what you meant, right? ;)

Simply do a search for "Kyle Rose" on Google groups, and you'll find lots of dirty laundry from my foolish days on the hill.  I actually apologized to Hank Dullea this past weekend for some the ridiculous complaining I did to him on various unimportant topics.  Perspective is a wonderful, and sometimes embarrassing, thing. :)
