2 former teammates from Rochester's McQuaid High School were named to the USA Under-18 team for the Junior World Cup: Billy Sauer (Michigan recruit) & Brian Keane (UMass recruit). Add former teammate Mike Cieslak, who recently joined the NTDP, and McQuaid is looking like a fine program just 2 hours away.

An interesting note from the article:
Sauer is headed to the University of Michigan on one condition: if Wolverines goalie Al Montoya signs with the NHL's New York Rangers.

Montoya has played two seasons at Michigan and was chosen sixth overall in the 2004 NHL draft. A spot for Sauer will open up if Montoya signs, as expected, in August. In the unlikely event that Montoya doesn't join the Rangers organization, Sauer said he'll return to the USHL, though he doesn't know with which team.

Montoya's actually played three seasons at Michigan.
Is next year here yet?

McQuaid and Ithaca High School have had some great games over the last six or seven years, playing at least once and often twice a year.  Both teams have won state Division 1 HS championships in that time, McQuaid winning this past year.
