Odd-man rushes

The number of denied opportunities in the Hahvahd game reminded me of something I've always suspected, but have absolutely no data to back up: our team is just not that good on odd-man rushes, breakaways, penalty shots, and the like.  

Sure, there have been some memorable ones (Paolini's last year sits on my highlight reel), but I'd swear that when the tables are turned, chances are, our goalie gets beat.

Somebody care to set the record straight?

They looked pretty good on the odd-man in the game at Princeton this year, but my guess is Schafer pulled them back into "the system", and that cut down on even the number of odd-man rushes.

Although blowing that two-on-none in the Union game was just pathetic.

Bitz - Vesce - Moulson (?) against Harvard was also pretty sweet.

After we blew two shorthanded opportunities against Union, I yelled down to Age that our discussion on eLynah about the lack of shorthanded goals cursed the team...   ::nut:: oh well.  I think we're fine on odd man rushes.  I always love it when the crowd gets excited for a four on three or a three on two.  It just doesn't benefit our team or the game plan if we rush down the ice and get a quick shot.  Now, a two on one is different because that's a real scoring chance, but otherwise it just acts like a punt in football.
