McKee was robbed :) I understand not giving him both ROTW and GOTW, but giving ROTW to another goaltender...uacceptable

I'm a little confused as to how McKee and Moulson wouldn't even get honorable mentions.

I suspect that it's league policy to spread out the awards.  So they only were willing to award two Cornellians (Bitz made honor roll).

Also, McKee is probably suffering from a version of the same bias that Cornell goalies have dealt with for a couple of years - the team is too good to give him much credit for his performance. (Note to woofing gods - I mean that the perception after 6-2 and 7-0 wins is that the team is too good, not that we are world beaters yet.)

When a team scores 13 goals in a pair of wins there are bound to be too many players who had good stats to reward them all.

It would have been nice to see McKee recognized, though.  It was silly to see the ROW go to a goalie who only played one game.

Just goes to show that these awards are sometimes given out without consistency.  McKee clearly was deserving the recognition.  I am sure Coach Schafer has given a word or two of encouragement and praise to this outstanding freshman.

Exhale.  Both players had great weekends.

Even though Vesce had a 7 point Saturday, he went 4-5-9 for the weekend, only slightly better than Czuy's 4-4-8.  And while Cornell went 2-0, Cornell was supposed to go 2-0.  UAF went 2-0 against WMU. (Remember WMU?)  In Friday's game, Czuy had 2G, 3A in a 5-4 come-from-behind (3-0 after the 1st) OT win.  Saturday he had points on three straight 2d period goals to give UAF a 4-0 lead.

Czuy obviously had a very good weekend and is getting credit for the shock of a 4 point weekend for Fairbanks.  Vesce was the first runner up, and that's not too shabby.

IIRC, they've done some pretty weird things before in spreading awards -- like giving a freshman goalie POTW and then naming him neither GOTW or ROTW  ::twitch::  ::nut::  ::screwy::

Now you know why I just stick to USCHO and don't INCH much credit. :-D

Is next year here yet?

Hooray for Vesce!  Can't argue with Ayers for defensive, though...shutting out BU four times in a row at four different locations is just frickin' amazing, really.
