He was one of the Ivy League's greatest players. Had a longer career as an actor. Turned out to have a good sense of humor onstage, too. At the Cornell sesquicentennial in 2015, he was part of the road show. At the big event in NYC, he reminisced about being back on campus: "I walked over to the Arts Quad, to, ah, Uris Library, I went inside. I can't believe how many books they had there." Brought down the house.
