You're missing the Bancroft Senior Night hat trick from last year.

He's still giggling from seeing not-quite-two-yet Isaac say "Go Red" in our tribute video on the scoreboard that night.

Quote from: dbilmes on February 02, 2026, 02:26:17 PMI wish I'd known at the time. I always bring an extra Cornell baseball cap with me to throw on the ice if a Cornell player gets a hat trick and would have gladly done so.
do I toss my spare down before the colgate game at home?
Mail it to the official scorer.

I don't remember whose hat trick it was at Lynah perhaps six to eight years ago, but in the highlight that shows the goal you can see the result of my plucking the hat off of my future son-in-law's head and tossing it on the ice. I was quick. It was one of, if not THE first hat on the ice. He was pretty surprised. (He got it back.)

Edit: Must have been Angelo 2018 or Barron 2019. Will see if I can find it later.

It was Barron. (Angelo's wasn't at Lynah.)

In what is among the more striking recent coincidences in my life, a good friend from HS who has retired in CT just out of the blue mentioned she had found the best pizza place in New Haven.  This was entirely unbidden and she is in no way connected with Cornell hockey or anything like that.  Just a fluke.

Zeneli's at 138 Wooster St.  Anybody have an opinion?

Zeneli's has its fans. One of my brothers, for example, considers it the best New Haven pizzeria. But the consensus among most New Havenites is that you have the Holy Trinity of Modern, Sally's and Pepe's, with Bar a notch below, and Zeneli's another notch below.

My friend mentioned Pepe and said it was her prior favorite before Zeneli.  I guess they are close on the same street.

Are we talking Modern, the chain?

Cuz they suck.

Edit: Sorry, that's MOD that sucks.  As you were.
