Regardless of the outcome of this game I've been surprised by the season turnaround this team has displayed.  Early 1st quarter field goal Dartmouth leading 3-0.  Cornell drove to the Dartmouth 10 only to be penalized for holding on a nice run by Triplett.

Ugh. Cornell gets it back inside the 30. First play of Q2, GBS complete pass along the sideline to Hamilton, CB reaches in and strips the ball out. Dartmouth recovers the fumble. Still 3-0 Dartmouth.

Cornell fumbles the ball on a pass play.  Cornell penalty followed by the turnover and this game is off to a bad start.

#3
Dartmouth with a beautiful punt that dies on the 2 but GBS and the offense carves up the Green with screens, one long pass to Kurtz over the middle, a great play action to Triplett to the 2 and then a third down QB run for the TD. Cornell up 7-3 with under five minutes left in the half.

What a great drive. Took exactly what the defense offered. Clean blocks the whole way. If GBS sets his feet before throwing to Triplett, he walks into the end zone but still a good scheme, good vision and a great catch by Triplett even if he had to go to the ground to make the catch.

Even though we fumbled on the prior drive, we moved the ball well and the sideline pass that resulted in a strip was the model for how we marched down the field. Dartmouth is proabably going to make significant adjustments at the half so we've got to be prepared to hit them where they weaken themselves to take away the cheap yards on the edge.

I've been critical of our QB play this season, but GBS has really improved the last few weeks. Kudos to him, and I'm glad he's making me eat my words.

UGH. Cornell misses a tackle, the QB throws a block, and Crother goes for a 67-yard Dartmouth TD.

Wasted two plays and 30 seconds before finally throwing downfield to Kurtz.

Cornell and Dartmouth trade punts. Cornell gets "into" FG range on a ~30 yard pass to Kurtz. Alas, 38 yards is a real longshot for our current kicking situation and it goes wide right. 10-7 Green at the half but we are very, very in this game.

If someone else wants to give updates, please do. I'll be running errands for most of the second half then interviewing Chris Kluwe, so I'm going to see if he can Chad Powers his way onto the Cornell roster next year.

He looks like the QB going into the the 2026 season.  Still hope the freshman QB from FL Ryan Downes gets in for a few series before the season is over.

Losing their outstanding sophomore kicker from last season Alan Zhao to an injury has been a challenge.

I'm surprised by how often kickers seem to get injured, but if Jack Hughes can cut his finger at a steakhouse and need surgery putting him out 8 weeks, I guess it shouldn't surprise me.

It was a glass.

Also, don't talk to me about it. Please. :'(

Dartmouth consistently converts on third and fourth downs.  Cornell does not.  Difference in the game.

Where are McAuliffe and Carothers?

I'm assuming one or both were injured. One of the more highly touted recruits from this  year's freshman class, RB Josiah Allen has been all season with an injury.  Next year this team could be loaded at the skill positions of WR, TE and RB assuming no transfers. Hope we can win the final game for the seniors to end with at least a winning record in the Ivy League standings.
