It looks like Topher is moving to Ann Arbor! Good for him and even better for Michigan, whose program needs some people with integrity running it.

Fine choice for UM.  Hopefully he will not just be set up to fail by non-compliance.

Congrats to both Topher and to Michigan for making an excellent choice.  Topher is the perfeect antidote to all the issues the Michigan hockey program has recently faced.  If you follow his twitter account at all - he's been very willing to confront the issue of abusiveness from coaches and others in the sports.  He's all about integrity, respect and doing things the right way.   Hopefully it won't be long before a Red and Blue home and home series gets scheduled.

Omg this would be awesome

I'd rather see him behind the bench when Schafer retires.

Fine. Make it a 3 game deal. Home, away, neutral @msg

Michigan may give Scott the seasoning to make him successful as a head coach. Better if as assistant coach but director of hockey operations is okay, too.

Dick Bertrand '70 (albeit class of 1970 at age 29) jumped from team captain to being Harkness' successor, without being in assistant position. That was too much to ask and Cornell did not fare well in the 1970s, even if you reduced expectations from a title every 4 years. Connor Buczek, now 29 (b 6/93) at least had several ~5 years assistant-coaching experience and lacrosse seems in good hands.

Need somebody to be AD as well.

Yeah if he is the successor to Schafer, I'd like him to have exposure to as many programs as possible in various coaching roles, getting exposed to more methods and strategies, rather than only having ever been in one program (which I realize is not the case with his time at Miami, but you get my point).
