- Ray Sawada has 8 goals and 8 assists in 17 games thus far in the season
- Tyler Mugford has far less impressive numbers at 1 goal and 5 assists in 17 games

Sawada is 6'3 and seems to be a budding power forward.  Mugford put up very good numbers with his team last year and seems to be really struggling this year.  Seems like it may be in his best interests to defer a year and play some more with Nanaimo.

Mugford looks to be the next Mike Iggulden.  Well, I guess someone has to be. ::rolleyes::

Is next year here yet?

There are 2 extra forwards and 3 extra defensemen on the team. The forwards who won't play will be McLeod and Varteressian. The defensemen who won't play will be Pajerski, Stachurski, and Gleed. Those are my guesses, anyway. If I'm right, then Iggulden will play regularly this year. So really you might say, "the next Varteressian" :-P

Actually, Iggulden was quite impressive until he broke his wrist at Princeton his freshman year. Never seemed to quite find his step after that, but he did look quite good in the U-18 game. If he keeps playing like that, he'll definitely see regular ice time. And though I'm not sure I agree that Gleed won't be a regular, I'm not sure who I'd bench in his favor. We'll see.

Gleed was awful in the U18 game.  He is definitely #7 on the depth chart at the very highest.

You've seen him for a few shifts in a relatively meaningless game. The person who is actually making the call has seen a lot more of him.
