Colgate ties it at 2 early in the third period and really were playing very well but twice after some sustained pressure gave the Cornell a breakaway and we cashed in both. First, Curlew finished a 2 on 1 and then Graham skated in all alone. Up 4-2 with time winding down.

In a classic Tuesday non-league trap game, the women fell behind Syracuse 2-0 in the 1st 9 minutes before coming back for a 5-2 win.  The Red was losing 2-1 late into the 2nd before tying it up, then scored 3 in the 3rd to pull away.

The women cruise past Union 7-0.

The women also cruise past RPI 5-0.  They have outscored their last three [admittedly not-very-good] opponents 17-0.  Clarkson in Potsdam next weekend will be a closer contest I suspect.

Small thing: The 17-0 CU run is since Syracuse took a 2-0 lead Tuesday.

I found it somewhat interesting that CU threw everything it had at RPI on the power play in the last minute of a 4-0 game (in what I assume was a bid to get Kristen O'Neill the hat trick). I don't have a problem with it, but it seemed a smidge out of character for a Doug Derraugh-coached team.

Given the variables in the NCAA tournament selection process, every point means something at this stage of the season.

RPI takes a penalty, they should expect to see Cornell's standard power play, even late in the game.  Had they been skating 5 on 5 in the closing minutes, the lines might have been different.  I watched the game but wasn't paying that close attention to the ice time.
